If you can not remember the director password for your computer, you could need to Reset Windows Password.  These steps will help you to log onto the PC using the reset disk.  If the machine is a domain member or has been removed from a domain, then you’ll need to follow special steps.  All other machines will work fine by employing the steps outlined here.  This includes both professional as well as home XP editions.

To begin you will need to restart your personal computer.  As the computer starts up, the screen for login for Windows XP will come up.  There you will need to pick the user name which you intend to use and press the enter key.

The program will next prompt you for a new password hint.  Choose a hint that may help you to remember what you chose.

You are now ready to press the finish button and to log into windows once again.
