What to Do About Spyware and Adware

Without doubt most people with computers and access to the world wide net usually experience spyware at one time or other. Spyware should be considered illegal and the perpetrators should be prosecuted without fail. If you happen to think that I am being a bit on the harsh side then you should consider the consequences of spyware being on your computer. This vicious software can track your every move on the net, it can store and retrieve your passwords, and it places pop up advertisements continually on your PC, and in general steals your identity. Now that you have some concept of what spyware is and what it can do to you, I would like to let you know how you can tell should you have this spyware on your machine.

It is highly probable that you might have spyware located on your PC and never realize it. If you happen to notice that your computer is performing a bit on the slow side lately this could be the starting indications of spyware. Don't misunderstand me slowness on your computer could have logical explanations also such as far too many browsers open at one time, too many programs running simultaneously or perhaps your hard drive is simply full. I personally would suspect spyware first should I notice a drastic decrease in speed.

Your second question may be centering on how you would eliminate this spyware should you discover it on your computer. There are various means for which you could get rid of any spyware that is found on your machine. Initially, you could go into your files and delete any programs which you do not recognize as something you had previously installed. Possibly you may see files containing words such as casino or porn. Perhaps you will see phrases containing "make money" or possibly "free money". These are all potential spyware files. A second and much easier method of removing the spyware from your machine is to simply download a free software for detecting and removing spyware, such as Spybot or Ad-Aware. If you visit the website for these programs you will discover that you can download them for free. Both of them do an admirable job at removing the offending programs. These are only two of the many fine programs designed for spyware removal.

Spyware is never a recommended thing to install on your computer and you should never deliberately install it. When you discover it you should immediately remove it. Don't think for one minute that it is easy to remove for it is not. However if you work at it you can remove it and restore your computer to its original way it was.
